Valentine’s Day Tutu Tutorial

Looking for that perfect outfit for your sweet little valentine? Follow our quick and easy step-by-step tutorial and you will have your girl in an adorable Valentine’s Day tutu in no time at all!

Here are the supplies that you will need:

  • Hot glue gun and hot glue stick
  • Flower heads – we used the 4″ Polka Dot Crystal Gerbera Daisies in Baby Pink
  • Tutu or pettiskirt – we used the 5 Layer Tutu
  • Scissors
  • * Our model is also wearing one pink and one white Crochet Tube Top and a pair of Rainbow Wings

Step 1: Using scissors, cut the stems off of the flowers until they are even with the plastic backing.

Step 2: Remove the plastic backing from the flowers.

Step 3: Using your hot glue gun, apply hot glue to the inside of the backing.

Step 4: After applying the glue, immediately place the backing back onto the flower snapping it into place over the stem. Hold it firmly in place until the glue has cooled.

Step 5: Apply hot glue to the backs of the flowers and attach them to the tutu. It is helpful to arrange them on the tutu before gluing them to get a sense of where you want them placed and how you want them spaced out. For our tutu we simply attached three flowers to the front of the tutu spacing them evenly. You could also put flowers all the way around the tutu or clump several flowers on one side.

And that’s all there is to it! Here is our finished tutu ready to be worn for Valentine’s Day.

This method can be used for any combination of tutu/flowers for all occasions. Add a crochet tube top and clip a matching flower in your little girl’s hair and she will be the prettiest valentine around!
