This week a terrific new tutorial from Kay Boutique on How-To: Make a Decorative Tulle Ball! This project takes approximately 15 minutes. You will need a roll of tulle, ribbon, scissors and a foot long ruler.
To begin, cut about 30 one foot pieces of tulle from the roll. Depending on how full you want the ball to look you may want to cut more or less than 30 pieces. You can also cut shorter or longer pieces of tulle to change the size of the ball.
Next, make a uniform pile of 12″ tulle pieces and cut the stack in half lengthwise.
1. Fold the middle of each pile of tulle like an accordion.
2. Tie off each stack with a piece of ribbon (yarn, string or thread would also work).
3. Place the tied, folded pieces of tulle over each other like an “X”. Use another piece of ribbon to tie them in the center of the “X”.
4.The last step to creating the ball is to separate each piece of tulle; blossoming it into a decorative ball.
To be able to hang your decorative ball, simply tie a longer piece of ribbon to the center of the “X” to make a loop.
Show off these fun Decorative Tulle Balls at a baby shower or decorate your nursery. Pick up more than one color of tulle to make tie-dyed style ones or balls of different colors. I love pink, my favorite color, and this is looking awesome. We can hang decorative ball over bouquet for any party gift.
