Dear Annabelle-
Hi there! I was looking through your little girl mart store and came across the Minnie Mouse headband you have for sale. Well, I must say it was rather perfect as my daughter wants to be her favorite mouse for Halloween this year. I don’t want to buy a pre-made costume so I was curious if you have any ideas on how to use the headband in a full costume? I really want it to be something fun and original. Thanks! Marybeth (Philadelphia, PA)
Hi Marybeth!
We (for obvious reasons) at Kay Boutique love homemade costumes and Minnie Mouse is a perfect character to make a costume of for your little girl! There are many ways to do a Minnie Mouse costume with our Little Girl Mart and make it all your own design! You can go with classic pieces in black and red or toss in a third color for a unique touch.
We have multiple Tutus and Pettiskirts that can make up Minnie’s skirt. They all have an elastic waist for comfort and fit. They also range in sizes small to large.
We layered two of our crochet tube tops together for the top with the red one folded over the top for a nice red border on the black. These tops are so soft and you can use them after the holiday is over.
We added the large chunky polka dot hair bow with clip for that classic Minnie touch. And of course the Minnie Mouse Headband to pull it all together! And can you believe this adorable costume can be put together for $9.65! Less than $10 for a Halloween costume! What a deal! And it has that homemade touch.
You can decide to do just black for the crochet tube top, cut and attach lace headbands for shoulder straps, or use a different kind of skirt. If you wanted polka dots we have our Black and White Polka Dot Pettiskirt as an option. You will have as much fun putting the look together as your daughter will when she wears it!
This DIY Halloween costume is all treat and no trick [except when people will think you spent so much money and time on it!].
