Dear Annabelle,
For the last three years my daughters have wanted to be Princesses for Halloween. I’m happy to make this happen for them but as you can imagine I am running out of ideas on how to make Princess Costumes seem different from the years before. I’ll admit I’ve gotten costumes from stores in past but this year I really want to put together the costumes myself to give them some uniqueness. They love the Disney Princesses so if you could put together some looks inspired by them that would be great! Diane (Plainfield, IN)
Hello Diane!
We here at Kay Boutique understand that we ladies sometimes just want to be a Princess! And Halloween has given many of us the chance to dress up like one. We have put together a few DIY Halloween costumes in the past weeks but putting together Princess Costumes got us really excited, we must say! So thank you for writing in to us about this. There is so much nostalgia for the Disney Princesses and we are so glad that your daughters love them like we did (and still do!).
We put together three looks for Snow White, Cinderella, and Belle using clothing from Little Girl Mart and accessories from Wholesale Girls. Each of our stores has amazing items and wholesale prices but when you use their products together you can really create something special like these costumes.
Each Princess has her own color scheme that is easy to work with in creating an original look that will make it easy for people to guess who your daughter is dressed as. Snow White wears mostly blue, yellow, and red. We combined a blue Crochet Tube Top, yellow 5 Layer Tutu, Rosette Baby Shoes Red, and a red 1 inch Sequin headband that you can attach a red Small Chunky Hair Bow with Clip to! Have her carry around an apple or little bird stuffed animal to complete the look even further.
Cinderella is a girl who loves the all blue look! We have put together a few items with two skirt options depending on your daughter’s preference. The blue Crochet Tube Top can be paired with either a turquoise Fluffy Solid Color Pettiskirt or a blue Sequin Trimmed Tutu. We have a Glitter Arch Headband in turquoise that is perfect match for Cinderella’s own headband. In place of her glass slippers we have Rosette Baby Shoes White. We also included Royal Blue and White Mini Korker Bow Hair Clips and 5 Petal Rhinestone Daisy Embellishments that you could easily attach with glue gun to the skirt, shoes, hair bows, or headband for added sparkle. You could have her carry around a small pumpkin which fits perfectly in for Halloween!
Belle is another girl who is mostly featured in one single color; yellow. We have our Belle in a yellow Crochet Tube Top (these things are so versatile and come in so many colors!), yellow 5 Layer Tutu, and we’ve added a 1.75 inch Sequin Headband in yellow for added sparkle to the look. For a head piece we attached a bright yellow 5 inch Marabou Fluff Puff with Clip to a 2.5 inch Crochet Headband also in yellow. This little Princess looks very sweet and bright! For an accessory you could have her carry around a teacup or hand mirror.
We hope these looks will please your own little Princesses or gave you ideas on how to put together looks for their favorite Princesses using these items in different colors or styles.
We hope you all have a magical Halloween and happy shopping!
